Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She received a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a writer and American actress active in theatre in film, television, and theatre. She began her acting career with theater, and was later featured in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream movies. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she not only received high praise but also numerous awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. She made her professional acting debut in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film work is highlighted by her performances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. For her work on television she has been praised for her role in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's police drama High Incident.
